Much has been said about the iPhone 5 – its release date, specs, carrier information and the like. But as October draws nearer, the days and nights seem to drag on longer, and you feel more and more impatient each passing day.

Each new generation of the iPhone is packed with new updates and features, both externally and internally. On its fifth release, Apple is aiming to prove the public that Apple hasn’t completely squeezed out its creative juices with the release of the iPhone 4. Here are some specs which we have to look forward to:

- The processor of the iPhone 5 will either be A5 or A6. It will boast a dual processor and ultra fast speed in its processes, probably speedier than the iPhone 4.

- 4G LTE is expected to be embedded in the upcoming iPhone generation. This feature may be possibly added with the prior release of Android phones boasting 4G capability.

- Longer battery life is also an expected feat of the new iPhone 5 as this has been a constantly improved facet of the gadget over the years. It is projected to last for as long as fourteen hours with all-day use of the 3G networks.

- Probably the biggest improvement Apple has made in the upcoming version is the shattering 8 megapixel camera. Its predecessor – the iPhone 4 boasts only 5 megapixels; and this step only means that Apple is slowly keeping up with the rest of the competition. It is noticeable that most smart phones released today are blustering 8 to 12 megapixels camera sensors.

- The new iOS 5 is a much awaited feature of the iPhone 5. More than 200 new features have been added to the operating system, which is also expected to power future Apple products like the upcoming iPad 3.

It can be remembered that iPhone has started to dominate the smart phone market back in 2007 when Apple released the first version of the iPhone. From that day onwards, iPhones have evolved into the much desirable gizmo worldwide – and this can be supported by the millions of units that Apple has sold.
